Australian based sunglass label Graz, headed by Graz Mulcahy, might be one of the best kept secrets in eyewear, at least here in the states. Make no mistake about it though, Graz is not new to designing sunglasses, and for many who might not be familiar with the name know of his works. At just the age of 19 he launched AM eyewear before moving on to design for Ksubi and then onto his own self entitled line Graz. Some might also recognize the name, as having designed sunglasses and collaborated with the label Chronicles of Never for both the 2009/10 line.
Graz sunglasses are not about fancy logo’s and fly by fads, they are a small label and you can tell the thought that goes into all the designs, which are seamlessly edgy yet classic.   ... More

Graeme Mulcahy AKA Graz is an enigmatic and wonderfully eccentric character who knows how to create some wonderful eyewear designs. Producing collections for Chronicles of Never as well as his own frames (currently all sold out sadly) and bespoke pieces Graz is steadily becoming the must-have designer for eyewear. Personally when I get a few bucks I'm going to ask him to do me a bespoke frame for my newly prescribed glasses. Buy Chronicles of Never collection online at Pitbull Mansion or for bespoke contact Graz via his site. Also look out for a new collaboration with Monster Children...I can't wait!

Chronicles of Never is fast finding its niche in the underground subculture with collections that are both edgy and for lack of a better term, Moody.
The Australian based label was founded by Gareth Moody, former Ksubi bad boy. Leaving Ksubi because of what he described as a love/hate relationship with the brand, he set out on his own with Chronicles of Never and fashion enthusiast’s have been thankful ever since.

While not busy designing his ready to wear collection, Moody has been busy with his latest project: sunglasses. Teaming up with Graz Mulcahy (another former Ksubi alum and now with his own label GRAZ Eyewear) sunglasses take on a whole new meaning, which is no surprise given their backgrounds.

One of our most favourite collaborations has hit the spot again. A good pair of sunglasses is hard to find, and a trying task at that. Luckily we never have to step further than Graz each season.

His ongoing collaboration with the team at Chronicles of Never always leaves us salivating. This collection is no different, with a more unique approach than mainline Graz. Some may find these styles a bit too out there, but definitely winners for Mr Lobo and myself. For more wearable but equally as excellent styles, have a look here on Graz’s online store, or for the daring stick to the Chronnies!

Having handled the eyewear creation for fellow Australian brand Chronicles of Never for both 2009 spring/summer and 2009 fall/winter, Graeme Mulcahy also boasts a role as director of music for RAFW. As a drop out in his teens, this didn’t stop Graeme from going on to assume roles at respected Australian labels AM and Ksubi a few years later. In his own collection of Graz Eyewear previewed here, the styles are not far off from traditional shapes, however the re-appropriation and modifications are noticeable and exaggerated.

GRAZ DOES IT AGAIN

Just when we think we've seen it all, something so strange and so beautiful comes along we had to take 5 to digest it.

Last year's releases from Graz, the designer behind success of AM Eyewear and Ksubi Eye, arrived in the market looking fresh, gorgeous, and poetic. The two styles - Eden and KMC - were instantly recognized by design and fashion junkies on all seven continents and beyond. True beauty is never complicated, and the first products under his own name were absolutely stunning.

About the new pieces we know close to nothing but looking at these unfinished samples one thing is clear, Graz does not design, he sculpts.
